Position Summary:

A tremendous opportunity to join a young, successful, growing school of health sciences in their new state-of-the art facilities as the Director of Family Nurse Practitioner Program.

The Director of Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Program; Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor provides leadership in administering all aspects of the program, including curriculum, accreditation, student progression, clinical contracts, and evaluations.

Time is provided to maintain clinical practice with opportunities in the Oxley College of Health Sciences building or off-campus.

This position is appointed by and reports to the Director of the School of Nursing. This is a 12-month non-tenure track position. Academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Characteristic Duties:

  • Provides administrative oversight and governance of the FNP program
  • Coordinates family nurse practitioner curriculum development and review
  • Monitors and ensures compliance with the Educational Standards, Policies, and Guidelines established by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)
  • Collaborates with other DNP Directors to coordinate activities between the programs
  • Monitors, guides, counsels, and advises students in their progression through the program
  • Coordinates the annual admission process for the FNP program
  • Teaches courses within the FNP and DNP programs; typically 6-9 credit hours each semester
  • Serves on program, school, college, and university committees

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Nursing or related discipline from an institution of higher education that was accredited by an agency officially recognized by the US Secretary of Education to accredit institutions at the time the degree was conferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in administrative, clinical, and didactic activities
  • Unencumbered current license, or license eligible, to practice as an APRN in Oklahoma;
  • Current certification or recertification by ANCC or AANP
  • Formal instruction in curriculum, evaluation, and instruction; current knowledge of institutional and programmatic accreditation requirements for Nurse Practitioner educational programs.
  • Record of research, scholarship or achievement appropriate for a Family Nurse Practitioner program

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five years of experience in an administrative or leadership position in an academic setting

About the Oxley College of Health Sciences:

Founded in 2015, the Oxley College of Health Sciences is TU’s newest college, bringing together programs in the School of Nursing, Department of Kinesiology and Rehabilitative Sciences, and Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. Additionally, the college houses the Faculty of Community Medicine, Institute of Health Care Delivery Sciences, and the Schweitzer Fellowship. The college enjoys partnerships with the Laureate Institute of Brain Research (LIBR), the University of Oklahoma and St. John Medical Center.
