The successful candidate will identify and understand the needs of key constituencies including future students, current students, industry, community and alumni and coordinate the development and delivery of superior academic programs. The Dean must be student focused and committed to student success as well as a faculty advocate and mentor.

 

The Dean should possess strong leadership ability and excellent management skills, demonstrated professional achievement, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, entrepreneurial ambition, as well as collaborative and creative energy. The Dean administers all College programs, personnel, budget and facilities in accordance with the University’s strategies, policies and procedures. Responsibilities include strengthening degree programs, recruitment and development of faculty, budget management, recruitment and retention of students, promoting teaching excellence and innovation, program assessment, being a liaison with the regional business community, and working collaboratively with others in creating and implementing a long-range strategic vision for the college and university.

 

The position reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and, as a member of the Deans Council, works closely with other deans and members of the Academic Affairs staff.

 

Essential Qualifications:

  • Earned doctorate in a business discipline from an accredited institution
  • Recognized scholarly/professional accomplishments and teaching record appropriate for the rank of associate professor or full professor in one of the disciplines within the college.
  • Leadership and administrative experience within a College of Business
  • Familiarity with online and blended models of delivery
  • Student focused with experience in active student recruitment and retention
  • Ability to develop and sustain business, community and organizational relationships
  • Experience in working with the faculty to establish programming and curriculum opportunities reflecting current and future business needs.
  • Experience in selecting, evaluating, promoting and retaining high quality faculty and staff
  • Ability and willingness to secure external funding
  • Commitment to maintain national business accreditation

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with and supporting a diverse student population.

 

About ENMU

ENMU's main campus, consisting of 344 acres is in Portales, 90 miles northeast of Roswell, 120 miles southwest of Amarillo, Texas, and 110 miles northwest of Lubbock, Texas.
