Erikson Institute seeks an experienced, results-driven strategist and innovative enrollment leader to bring their proven record of accomplishment in recruitment, enrollment and retention to the role. This position offers opportunity for advancement to the level of Vice President.

The ideal candidate is tech savvy and well versed with both graduate and online programs. S/he understands data analytics and marketing and has a proven history of leveraging technology and the latest recruitment practices to achieve recruitment and retention goals and meet the evolving needs within their areas of responsibility (enrollment, recruitment, financial aid, multicultural student affairs, registrar and admissions).

The SAVPEM oversees and provides strategic leadership and support to the student recruitment and admissions processes. The charge for this position is to achieve enrollment goals, maintain quality service and efficiencies, and collaborate across campus to ensure student development, growth, high retention and graduation rates.

Reporting to the President, the SAVPEM serves on the president’s leadership team, working closely and collaborating with other senior leaders and the Board of Trustees and Faculty to provide strategic direction on enrollment. and implements programs and services that improve student enrollment, retention, and success. In close collaboration with the Office of Marketing and Communication, the SAVPEM also develops innovative and effective communication and marketing strategies to attract students to the institution.

The SAVPEM brings a wide spectrum of experience working and supporting numerous areas across campus including Admissions, Financial Aid, Registration and Student Records, and Multicultural Student Affairs. The SAVPEM ensures the Enrollment Management Department advances Erikson’s mission, vision and articulated priorities by strategically shaping enrollment and providing effective student-centered programs that support student success and retention. In collaboration with Senior Administration and faculty leadership strengthens Erikson’s relationships with academic partners and works with Institutional Advancement to nurture relationships and partnerships for student scholarship and support.

Responsibilities

  • Building, leading and motivating the appropriate teams to ensure that enrollment goals are met
  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive strategic enrollment management plan. Creating and leading the strategic direction for the admissions and financial aid offices, developing long- and short-term strategies that ensure student success while supporting enrollment goals
  • Analyzing data related to strategic directions; proactively assess the effectiveness of division activities in response to Erikson's mission and objectives; and provide leadership on policies, procedures, and regulations relevant to enrollment management best practices
  • Serving as the primary analytical resource for units throughout the institution by producing routine, descriptive statistics comparing and contrasting enrollment trends over time, and developing predictive models for traditional and non-traditional populations across all campuses
  • Providing students and their families the financial awareness and education necessary to successfully finance their educational pursuits at Erikson Institute
  • Works directly with the SVP for Academic Affairs and faculty to create and support new and existing academic programs
  • Collaborates with leaders across campus to coordinate services and enhance online teaching and learning experiences
  • Serve as the chief advisor to the President and others within the college’s leadership team on enrollment strategies and opportunities
  • Serve as Erikson’s Title II licensure officer with Illinois State Board of Education and ensure compliance with all programmatic and regulatory statutes.
  • Ensure that student enrollment related policies established by the Board of Trustees, President, Executive Leadership Team, and the Faculty relating to Enrollment, are implemented.
  • Serve as the Institute’s designated Ombudsperson with Higher Learning Commission for non-accreditation related matters.

 

Required Qualifications

  • A Master's degree
  • Ten+ years experience in enrollment management with a minimum of five+ years in progressive leadership roles
  • Experience with graduate education
  • Proven success in setting and meeting enrollment goals
  • A proven track record of data informed decision making, operations and knowledge in data analysis and reporting
  • Strong computer/technology skills with experience using higher education student services information CRM's. Knowledge and experience of Slate CRM preferred.
  • Experience with budget oversight including the ability to develop and implement the budget effectively, aligning resources with strategic priorities
  • Experience with financial aid and leveraging
  • Current in knowledge of best practices and trends in enrollment
  • Demonstrated ability with enrollment management systems and web-based recruitment initiatives
  • Current understanding of branding and effective marketing strategies applicable to student recruitment in the digital marketplace
  • Strong collaborator with excellent communication skills and outstanding integrity
  • Demonstrated organizational, problem-solving, management, and decision-making skills
  • Proven ability to initiate, lead, and facilitate change
  • Demonstrated commitment to and knowledge about diversity, equity, and inclusion as critical components of academic excellence and student success.
  • Previous marketing experience
