This is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor to shape and define the direction of research with a variety of stakeholders including in the areas of policy, community based work and quality improvement.

 

With strong support by leadership, CARE-PC is a highly collaborative environment providing on-going development and leadership opportunities to build programs and research.

 

The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health is New Jersey’s oldest, and one of the country’s largest family medicine and community health departments, with more than 60 outstanding full- and part-time paid faculty members, and over 220 volunteer faculty throughout New Jersey. Core faculty members in the Research Division have well-developed primary care research portfolios focused on patient-centered care and outcomes and understanding barriers and facilitators to dissemination and implementation of evidence-based primary care interventions.

There are also excellent opportunities for collaborations with the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, Rutgers School of Public Health, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and RWJBarnabas Health System (12 community hospitals across the state of New Jersey).

Research division core faculty have expertise in the following areas:

• Primary care transformation

• Cancer/Cancer survivorship

• Chronic disease

• Dissemination and implementation science

• Obesity

• Qualitative and Mixed-Methods

• Substance abuse

 

Affiliated faculty members have expertise in:

• Community health

• Developmental disabilities

• Health literacy

• Intimate partner violence

• Women’s health

 

A joint appointment with the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health Research Division will be supported.

Academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience

Required Qualifications:

  • PhD, MD, MD/PhD or equivalent degrees in health science or other related disciplines
  • Record of patient-centered care research
  • Applicants at the Assistant Professor level - desire individuals who have completed post‐doctoral training in the health sciences and possess a strong publication record
  • Applicants at the Associate or Full Professor level – desire individuals with an independent research program

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Applicants with an established record of patient-centered care research
  • Experience and enthusiasm toward contributing to the professional development and mentorship of junior faculty, fellows, research staff, and students are strongly desired

 

CARE-PC is located in the Rutgers Institute for Health, Health Care Policy, and Aging Research. It is housed in a 57,000 square foot state-of-the-art academic research facility in the heart of New Brunswick - an ethnically diverse and lively city with easy access to New York City and Philadelphia.
